It always seemed to me that Christians believed in three gods but Matt tells me that they don’t.
Their doctrine of the Trinity, though, has me totally at a loss. And, as Gingerbeardman comments, the Christians themselves can’t explain it! I shall have to have another talk to Matt about this – see if he can make it any clearer.
Meanwhile, I’ve made a discovery. Look what I found in the Bible! This is Jesus speaking in a book called John:
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.”
Now, can anyone tell me whether this Spirit of Truth the same as the Holy Spirit?
I very much like the sound of: he will guide you, because guidance is something I seem to need a lot of the time. But how does he guide people? Does anyone know? Do they hear a voice, or what?
He will guide you into all the truth. Yes, I like that too. So many lies about. So much exaggeration. We certainly need more truth.
He will tell you what is yet to come. Personally, I’m wondering what’s going to come next and how to be prepared for it.
Must see Matt again and have a good, long conversation with him. I’ll tell you if I find anything out!
